FAQ

What’s included in the jewelry kits?

Each kit comes with everything you need to create your own meaningful piece:

  • A blank jewelry base (necklace, keychain, or ring)
  • Silicone mold
  • Crystal-clear resin
  • Nail-filer
  • Wooden mixing stick
  • (Optional) UV lamp for curing

The UV lamp is available as an add-on if you don’t already have one — it’s needed to harden the resin and complete your piece.

Do I need a UV lamp to make the jewelry?

Yes, a UV lamp is required to cure (harden) the resin. If you don’t already have one, you can add it to your order as an optional add-on.

Do I need to send in my pet’s fur?

Not at all! You don’t need to send us anything. Our kits are designed for you to use a small piece of fur, whisker, or other keepsake from your pet directly at home. Everything else is included.

How long does it take to make?

Most people complete their jewelry in 15–20 minutes of hands-on time. Once you’re done, the resin will need a few minutes to cure under a UV lamp and that’s it! Your keepsake is ready to wear and cherish.

Can I use other materials besides fur?

Absolutely! Many of our customers use whiskers, feathers, ashes, small nail clippings, or even baby teeth. Anything meaningful and small enough to fit into the mold can be preserved.

Is it hard to make? I’ve never done DIY before.

Not at all. Our kits are beginner-friendly and come with step-by-step instructions. No crafting experience needed — just a little love and care.

What if I make a mistake? Can I fix it?

Don’t worry, you have some flexibility! The resin only cures once exposed to the UV lamp, so you can adjust your design as much as you like before then.

We also include enough resin for you to create 2–3 stones, so you can experiment and choose your favorite one to turn into jewelry.

Is the jewelry waterproof and durable?

Yes! Once cured, the resin becomes waterproof and long-lasting. Just avoid exposing it to extreme heat or chemicals (like perfume or harsh cleaners) to keep it looking beautiful.

The resin came hardened in the bottle,  what should I do?

Sometimes resin can harden slightly due to temperature changes or air exposure during shipping. To soften it, place the bottle inside an air tight ziplock bag, then soak it in warm (not boiling) water for about 10–15 minutes. This should help restore the resin’s smooth texture. If the problem persists, feel free to contact us — we’re happy to help!

Do you take custom orders or make the jewelry for me?

We only offer DIY kits so you can create your own personalized pieces at the moment. But we're exploring pre-made options in the future!

There’s a sticky layer on the mold or stone after curing. What should I do?

A slightly sticky or tacky surface after curing is normal — it’s called the resin inhibition layer and can happen if the resin wasn’t cured long enough or if there’s humidity in the air.

Here’s how to fix it:

  1. Make sure you've cured the resin fully with the UV lamp — we recommend curing for at least 2–3 minutes, and up to 10 minutes if needed.

  2. If it still feels sticky, simply wipe the surface with a bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad.

  3. To give your stone a smooth and shiny finish, apply a thin layer of clear nail top coat after curing. Let it dry completely before placing it into your jewelry.

This finishing step not only removes tackiness but also gives your piece a beautiful polished look!
